Alec Baldwin grew up in Massapequa, Long Island where his father was a high school teacher and his mother raised six children. He attended George Washington University and the NYU Drama Program. He has been nominated for a Tony Award for his performance in A Streetcar Named Desire, an Oscar for Supporting Actor for The Cooler, and won the 2007 Golden Globe, SAG, and Television Critics Association awards for Best Actor in a comedy for his work on 30 Rock.
